Mr. Thorn joined in 2012 and is the Chief Investment Officer of Sightway Capital.
Mr. Thorn has spent his career identifying, financing, structuring and investing in private investment and venture capital transactions, including being involved in numerous management buyouts transactions, venture investments, add-on acquisitions, realizations, corporate financings, fundraisings and other principal transactions, and numerous leverage financings totaling in excess of approximately $25 billion in aggregate consideration.
Prior to Sightway, Wray was a senior managing director with Marathon Asset Management, L.P. where he served as a senior member of the firm’s investment management team and developed the firm’s private equity investment activities. In addition, Wray was actively involved in leading a number of Marathon’s other new business opportunities, investor-related activities and capital formation initiatives, including the firm’s middle-market direct lending business and its participation in the U.S. Treasury’s Legacy Securities Public Private Investment Program. Prior to Marathon, Wray evaluated and completed management buyout opportunities as a director with Fox Paine & Company, LLC and financed corporate and private equity-sponsored acquisitions in the Acquisition Finance Group at Chemical Bank (today, J.P Morgan Chase). Wray currently serves or has served as a member of the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards of 15 public and private companies and investment funds as well as Co-President of the Board of Directors of Youth, INC and President of the St. Stephen of Hungary School Foundation, Inc. Wray earned a B.A. in Government, cum laude, from Harvard University.
